Rebuilding the secondary irrigation infrastructure in Romania should be done in 2016, with the help of EUR 500 million, according to Agriculture Minister Daniel Constantin, quoted by Agerpres.

Contracts worth EUR 130 million were already signed, with the program to repair the irrigation infrastructure having started in 2012. Organizations of farmers who receive subsidies for irrigation systems on their plots – so called irrigators’ associations - already received EUR 1 million each, non-reimbursable.
