Romania has second highest incidence of fatal work accidents in EU
Romania has the second highest rate of fatal accidents among the EU Member States, with 3.8 deaths from work accidents per 100,000 employees, according to the most recent study published by the European Statistics on Accidents at Work (ESAW), quoted by local Dailybusiness.ro.
The highest incidence of fatal accidents was recorded in Portugal, with 4.3 casualties for every 100,000 employees.
However, Romania has one of the lowest incidence of serious accidents among the EU members, with under 100 serious accidents at work per 100,000 employees.
