Romania holds 0.34% of worldwide official gold reserves
Romania is the 31st largest holders of gold reserves worldwide, according to a recent report from the Worldwide Gold Council. The country holds 103.7 tonnes in its official gold reserves, which is 0.34 percent out of a total of 30,190 tonnes worldwide. US ranks first in this top, with gold reserves of 8,133 tonnes, which is 26 percent of official worldwide reserves, followed by Germany, with 3,604 tonnes, and the International Monetary Fund (IMF), with 3,000 tonnes. Romania, Poland and Slovakia are the only countries in the Central and Eastern Europe included in the top.
