Romania increases industrial production
Romania’s industrial production increased by 2.2% in the first five months of the year, compared to the same period last year.
The manufacturing industry recorded the biggest increase of 2.9%, according to the National Institute of Statistics. The mining industry went down by 5.8%, whereas the production and distribution of energy decreased by 1.4%.
In May, the industrial production increased by 1% compared to the previous month, supported by the mining industry, with an 8.9% growth, and the manufacturing industry, with a 1.7% increase.
The production and distribution of energy dropped by 9.7% in May.
