Catalin Mitulescu is best known for his short film Trafic/Traffic, which won him a Short Film Palme d'Or at the 2004 Cannes Film Festival.
His debut film, The Way I Spent the End of the World/Cum mi-am petrecut sfârşitul lumii was also screened at Cannes in 2006, while his latest hit, Loverboy, from 2011, premiered in the Un Certain Regard section of the same film festival.
He was a screenwriter for Eu când vreau să fluier, fluier /If I want to whistle, I whistle, which got the grand prize of the jury in Berlin in 2010.
Mitulescu, born in 1972 in Voluntari, a commune near capital Bucharest, graduated in filmmaking at the Bucharest University in 2001. His debut film as a director was in 1997, La amiaza/At noon.
