Romania introduces First Car program
Romania will clone its First House program, and mix it with the Scrap Car program, resulting into the new First Car program.
From November 1, Romanians will be able to take loans of up to RON 50,000 (over EUR 11,000) to buy a new car. The Romanian state will guarantee half of the credit’s value, according to the Minister of Economy Constantin Nita.
He officially presented the First Car program, which aims to support young people and help boost sales for new, less polluting cars, as well as increase domestic production.
The Automobile Manufacturers and Importers Association (APIA) says the EUR 11,000 ceiling will not be enough, and some car brands will not be able to join the program, reports local Agerpres.
