Romania joins Wings for Life World Run charity event organized around the world in 2014
Romania has joined the Wings for Life World Run, a charity event in which people from around the world can race together, simultaneously.
On May 4, 2014, 12:00 (Romania time), thousands of competitors will start to run on up to forty courses worldwide.
The event caters to runners of all levels, from first-timers and passionate amateurs to professional athletes.
One hundred percent of the entry fee from the Wings For Life World Run event will go to Wings For Life, a foundation that funds research into finding a cure for spinal cord injury.
An estimated three million people around the world are experiencing disorders of the spinal cord.
Some of the competitors who have already announced their participation are former F1 drivers David Coulthard and Eddie Jordan, world renowned surfer Robby Naish, ultra-marathoner Sabrina Mockenhaupt and other legends of world sports.
Besides Romania, some of the countries taking part in the event are Croatia, Austria, Ukraine, Germany, UK, Portugal, Spain, France, California, Colorado, Peru and Brazil.
