Romania opened its pavilion at the Shanghai 2010 World Exhibition in May and was expecting six months of intense promotion in China. The country’s pavilion, called Greenopolis – The Green Megalopolis, will host a review of classic Romanian films, among which Stefan cel Mare” (1974) and “Mihai Viteazul” (1970), as well as traditional dance shows and ethnic costume exhibitions. The exhibition includes three sections – “Millennium in Retrospect, “Social and urban development promoted by history and nature” and “City life close to nature.”

The pavilion itself, in the shape of a green apple with a slice laying on the ground, was constructed from glass, with the interior made of steel. The apple-shaped construction will change color during the night.

The World Exhibition 2010 – “Better City, Better Life” in Shanghai, China will be on until October 31st, 2010. The Expo 2010 organizers expect over 200 countries and international organizations to participate and approximately 70 million visitors.
