Romania lends EUR 150 mln to Moldova
Romania will grant the Republic of Moldova a EUR 150 million reimbursable loan. Prime Minister Victor Ponta has asked the ruling coalition for a mandate on this loan.
The Governments of Romania and Moldova will hold a joint meeting today, reports local Hotnews.ro.
At the end of August, Romania’s Government decided to grant the Republic of Moldova a EUR 100 million non-reimbursable loan. It was meant for continuing the interconnection programs of the energy transport infrastructure, as well as for expanding the emergency rescue unit SMURD.
On August 26, the Romanian Government approved the deal between Romania and the Republic of Moldova for the interconnection of the two countries’ gas and electricity networks as well as the non-reimbursable financing.
