Romania records negative inflation rate in September
Romania had a negative annual inflation rate in September, amounting to -0.1%, according to the European Statistics Office (Eurostat).
In the European Union and the euro zone, the annual inflation rate went up to 0.4% in September, from 0.3%, respectively 0.2% in August.
The countries with the highest annual inflation rates in September included Belgium (1.8%), Estonia (1.7%) and Austria (1.1%). The states that recorded negative annual inflation rates included Bulgaria (-1.1%), Croatia (-0.7%), Slovakia (-0.5%), Cyprus (-0.4%) as well as Romania, Greece, and the Netherlands (all with -0.1%).
Compared to August this year, the inflation dropped in nine member states, rose in 16 countries and remained stable in two.
