Romania pays over EUR 80 mln to buy snow removing machines
Romania's National Company for Highways (CNADNR) will organize an auction to buy snow removing equipment on a EUR 50 million contract.
It already bought such equipment in the fall 2014, via a contract worth EUR 33.1 million.
These acquisitions will reduce the dependency on contracts concluded with private companies, CNADNR representatives said, cited by local Mediafax.
The company has cleared some 20% of the snow so far with its own equipment, while for the rest 80% it has rented equipment. Following last year’s purchase, CNADNR would increase the snow removal with own machines to around 60%, said company representatives.
The contracts are co-financed with European funds.
