Romania posts 0.28% budget deficit at four months
Romania’s budget deficit stood at 0.28 percent of the Gross Domestic Product GDP in the first four months of the year, compared to 1.19 percent recorded in the same period of 2013, according to data from the Ministry of Finance.
The consolidated budget revenues totalled RON 67.8 billion (EUR 15.3 billion) in this period, representing 10.2 percent of GDP. Compared to the same period in the previous year, the revenues increased by 4.4 percent.
The expenses amounted to RON 69.7 billion (EUR 15.8 billion), down 3.8 percent against the first four months in 2013.
Romania ended last year with a budget deficit of 2.5 percent of GDP.
