Romania ranks second in EU for increase in construction work
Romania ranked second in the European Union for the increase in construction work in May this year compared to the same month in 2015, with a growth rate of 7.5%.
Sweden was first with a 14.4% rise in construction work, according to European Union’s statistical office Eurostat.
Construction work decreased by 1.1% at EU level and by 0.8% in the euro zone in May. Among the member states, Hungary saw the biggest annual drop (-26.6%), followed by Slovenia (-21.2%) and Poland (-13.8%).
Compared to April this year, the construction work in Romania dropped by 3% in May. It was the second largest monthly decrease, exceeded only by Italy with -3.6%.
