Romania ranks second in the EU for entrepreneurial intentions in 2011
Romania ranks second in the EU for entrepreneurial intentions in 2011, with 24.7 points, according to the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor (GEM) 2011 report. Latvia ranks first with 24.8 points. Romania is followed by Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, Latvia, and Croatia.
For perceived opportunities to open a business, Sweden, Norway and Finland reported the highest scores among the European countries, while for perceived capabilities, Slovakia, Poland and Spain posted the highest scores.
Latvia, Romania and Poland were the countries with the highest entrepreneurial intentions in 2011, while fears of failure were lowest in Germany and Poland.
The Netherlands, Poland and Romania reported the best scores for viewing entrepreneurship as a good career choice, while for media attention for entrepreneurship, Finland, Sweden and Netherlands posted the highest scores.
