Romania receives EUR 5 mln for six environmental projects
Romania received a financing of almost EUR 5 million for the development of six environmental projects, through the European Union’s LIFE + programme.
The European Commission has approved funding for 225 new projects under the LIFE+ programme, the European Union's environment fund. They represent a total investment of some EUR 589.3 million, of which the EU will provide EUR 282.6 million.
Within the programme, six projects in Romania received a finance of EUR 4.9 million, including a project of the Bucharest City Hall aiming to demonstrate specific methods for coagulating dust particles in urban areas through dust-binding agents that reduce airborne particulate matter (PM10) (in the LIFE + Environment Policy and Governance component).
Other four projects are funded through the programme’s LIFE + Nature component, and one through the LIFE + Communication and Information component.
