Romania registers third largest increase in hourly labor costs between 2008 and 2012
Bulgaria, Poland and Romania registered the largest increases in hourly labor costs in the whole economy between 2008 and 2012, the growth in the EU28 and EA12 being of 10.9% and 11.8% respectively, according to data from Eurostat.
For Member States outside the euro area, and expressed in national currency, the largest increases in hourly labor costs in the whole economy between 2008 and 2012 were registered in Bulgaria – plus 33.7%, Poland – plus 22.5% and Romania – plus 19.3%. On the other hand, Lithuania and the UK registered the lowest increases.
