Romania introduces new rules for operating jet skis at the seaside
The Romanian minister of tourism Bogdan Trif approved on Thursday, July 5, new rules for water sports at the seaside, according to which those who want to carry out nautical leisure activities with motor boats must set a perimeter for these boats, according to local News.ro. This also includes jet skis.
Only non-motorized boats will be allowed within 300 meters from the areas where the tourists can swim. The motor boats can be operated only outside this perimeter.
The tourism minister hopes the new rules will help avoid incidents in which tourists are injured by over-speeding motor boats. The companies providing such services that don’t comply with the new provisions risk fines or can have their operating license suspended.
