Romania, second lowest minimum wage in EU
Romania had the second lowest minimum wage in the EU on January 1, 2015, amounting to EUR 218 per month.
Bulgaria ranked first with EUR 184, while Luxembourg had the highest minimum salary, with EUR 1,923, according to EU’s statistical service Eurostat.
Ten of the EU member states have minimum wages below EUR 500 per month, whereas seven countries have minimum wages above EUR 1,000 per month.
Romania and Bulgaria also have the lowest minimum wage in the European Union, calculated at the purchasing power standard (PPS).
