Romania sees 21% increase in new car registrations
New passenger car registrations in Romania increased by 21.7% in January, to 7,059 units, more than twice compared to the advance in the European Union, which reached 10.2%.
The growth in new registrations in Romania was the fourth highest in the EU, after those registered in Latvia (+32.7%), Netherlands (+27.1%), and Croatia (+23.6%).
At EU level, some 1.17 million cars were registered in January, up 10.2% year-on-year. Germany, France, Italy, and Spain, four of the biggest car markets in the European Union all saw increases of over 10% in new registrations. In the UK, new car registrations were up only 2.9%.
In the region, Poland, Czech Republic, and Bulgaria saw increases of over 19%.
Romanian car brand Dacia’s deliveries in the EU rose by 9.5% to almost 33,200 units.
