Work to enlarge five beaches on the Romanian seaside by using artificial sanding will start this fall. The investment for this project will be EUR 145 million and will be financed by European funds, according to Economica.net.

The five beaches are located in Mamaia, Constanta and Eforie Nord. The beaches will be expanded by a total of 33 hectares and new peers will be built for them. The necessary sand will be brought from the Black Sea.

Contracts for the beach expansion were signed one year ago. The project should be finalized in 2015.
