Romania to increase natural gas prices this April
The natural gas price for household consumers will increase by two percent as of April 1, according to Niculae Havrilet, head of Romania’s energy authority ANRE.
“We’re not planning a price increase for electricity, but for natural gas there is an increase set in the calendar agreed with international partners, and it’s a 2 percent increase for household consumers,” said Havrilet, quoted by local Agerpres.
“For industrial consumers on the regulated market, because we also have consumers in the free market, the prices will go up 5 percent,” he added.
The estimated national consumption of natural gas dropped by over 8 percent in Romania last year, while imports halved, Mariana Gheorghe, CEO of oil and gas company Petrom, said earlier this year.
