Romanian AdePlast opens EUR 3.7 million polystyrene factory in Roman, part of EUR 16 mln industrial site

Romanian construction materials producer AdePlast, owned by businessman Marcel Barbut, has recently opened a new polystyrene factory in the city of Roman, Romania, following an investment of EUR 3.7 million, according to the company. The plant’s total production capacity is 700,000 cubic meters per year.

The company’s unit in Roman will serve customers in Ukraine, the Republic of Moldova and the Arab states and will have 49 employees.

“After we finished the industrial site in Oradea two weeks ago, we also managed to complete the second platform in our industrial portfolio, consisting of an adhesives factory and a polystyrene factory. The total investment made in the Roman platform was EUR 16 million,” according to Marcel Barbut, CEO AdePlast.

This May, AdePlast opened a polystyrene factory in Oradea, Romania, following an investment of EUR 3.2 million. The Romanian manufacturer plans further investments this year, the soonest being in the paint factory in Ploiesti.

AdePlast is owned by Romanian investor Marcel Barbut and was founded in Oradea, in 1994.
