Romanian-American group Tuba Project to take the stage in Portugal
The Romanian-American group Tuba Project, founded by the Romanian pianist Lucian Ban and the saxophonist Alex Harding, will perform for the first time in Portugal, during the fourth edition of the “Romanian Music Season in Portugal” event, that will take place in Lisbon, this July, according to the Romanian Cultural Institute.
Tuba Project Group's debut in Portugal will take place in the Musicas do Mundo Festival in Sines, on the night of July 28. On the evening of Friday, July 29, at 21:30 hours, Tuba Project will perform on Museu do Oriente's prestigious stage, in Lisbon.
The band was founded in New York, a decade ago, by the Romanian pianist Lucian Ban and the saxophonist Alex Harding, having Bob Stwart as a star. Lucian Ban is the first Romanian jazzman that was acclaimed on the worldwide stage of jazz. Tuba Project proposes an exuberant, vital, polychrome, firmly anchored in African-American jazz traditions music.
