Romanian Cornelia Coman will be the new CEO of insurance company Nationale-Nederlanden Spain (NN Spain) starting July 1. She will replace Robin Buijs, who has been the company’s CEO for the last four years.

Cornelia Coman has an experience of almost two decades in the life insurance industry. She started her career within NN Asigurari de Viata Romania in 1998, as actuary, and was promoted chief actuary three years later. In 2006, she was named deputy general manager of the company, and took over as CEO two years later, in 2008. She then moved to NN Hungary, where she has held the CEO position for the last four years.

Coman will move to Madrid to run the NN's Spanish division.

NN Spain had a gross premium income of EUR 466 million, in 2015, while NN Hungary had EUR 245 million, according to the group's financial report. In Romaniam, NN Asigurari de Viata wrote gross premiums of EUR 141 million, up by 2.4% compared to 2014.
