Romanian authorities spend EUR 1 bln on IT&C equipment, services in four years
Romanian authorities spent almost EUR 1 billion (RON 4.33 bln) between 2011 and 2015 to buy IT&C equipment and software applications.
The peak was reached in 2014, when the total contracts were worth EUR 320 million whereas the weakest year was 2011 with some EUR 100 million, reports local Profit.ro.
The amounts don’t include VAT. The state spent EUR 153 million in 2012 and EUR 164 million in 2013.
The public acquisitions peaked in 2014, and then went down to EUR 224 million in 2015.
The two most expensive projects were attributed by the Environment Ministry in 2014. The authorities paid EUR 62 million for an IT system for national water management. They also attributed a EUR 30.1 million contract for implementing a management solution of the Environment Operational Programme.
