Romanian authorities want to reward informants in anti-competition cases
Individuals who turn informant against companies that breach the competition law will be financially rewarded, the Romanian Competition Council plans, according to Mediafax.
Romania will thus follow the American, and even Hungarian examples. In Hungary, the compensation for providing information is capped to EUR 50,000, but in the US, there is no limit, and the highest reward so far was of USD 100 million, said Competition Council president Bogdan Chiritoiu.
The project will be drafted next spring, when all details will be announced.
