Romanian automotive group New Kopel appoints new CEO
New Kopel Group, which specializes in operational leasing, fleet management,and rent-a-car services, has appointed Tal Lahav as its new CEO. He will start his mandate on January 1, 2017, replacing Hezi Shayb, who will remain chairman within the group.
Tal Lahav has joined the New Kopel Group three years ago. During this period, he worked as Deputy CEO and CFO.
He previously worked within KPMG for seven years, both in Romania and the US. He has a diploma in business administration from the Adelphi University, in New York.
New Kopel Group wants to reach a fleet of 4,000 cars until the end of 2017. They will be used for fleet management, operational leasing, and rent-a-car services.
Sixt Rent a Car, the company within the group specialized in rent-a-car services, has doubled its fleet in the last two years reaching 800 cars. The company has created a service that offers to the local market the possibility to rent a car with only EUR 9.99 per day, in weekends.
The group has an integrated platform called „One-Stop Shop”, that allows customers to choose one or another service, according to New Kopel. It also launched Prima Masina SH program to support the Romanians who want to buy a second-hand car.
New Kopel Group is the Romanian subsidiary of Israeli Shlomo Group.
