Romanian boxer Lucian Bute to defend world champion title in home country match
Romanian-born boxer Lucian Bute will defend his IBF super middleweight title on July 9, in Romania. "I want to make it up to my Romanian supporters with this match. I want to promote Romania and make this match a worldwide event," said Bute. The Romanian boxer will promote Romania's country brand during his upcoming match.
Bute added he is ready to fight anyone and doesn't yet know who he will be up against. Bute kept his IBF super middleweight title on March 20, knocking out Irish Brian Magee, at the Centre Bell in Montreal, Canada.
Lucian Bute is a Romanian-born French-Canadian professional boxer living and fighting out of Montreal, Canada. Bute is the current IBF Super Middleweight champion. He has a professional record of 27 wins (22 KOs), 0 losses and 0 draws. Bute became the third Romanian professional boxing world champion after Leonard Doroftei and Mihai Leu.
