Romanian bricks manufacturer Cemacon records best year in its existence
Bricks manufacturer Cemacon Cluj-Napoca (CEON) recorded a turnover of EUR 19.2 million in 2016, up 28% over the previous year, and its net profit grew from EUR 150,500 to EUR 1.1 million.
The evolution was linked to the recovery of the local construction market. The company also sold two plots in Zalau to Dedeman, the biggest DIY retailer in Romania, for about EUR 1.1 million. Both plots have a total area of 25,000 sqm.
“We close a spectacular year, 2016 being the best year in the history of Cemacon,” said Liviu Stoleru, the company’s director.
Cemacon is controlled by an investment fund owned by BCR and a Finish investment fund – KJK. The company is listed on the Bucharest Stock Exchange and has a market capitalization of RON 38.6 million (EUR 8.5 million).
