Romania’s National Bank - BNR’s foreign exchange reserves amounted to EUR 32.6 billion at the end of May this year, up by EUR 1.2 billion compared to the end of April.
The increase was due to the EUR 1 billion loan the Finance Ministry took from foreign markets in May.
The total inflows reached EUR 1.4 billion last month whereas the outflows totaled EUR 250 million.
The gold reserve stood at 103.7 tons and its value amounted to EUR 3.6 billion. Romania’s international reserves, which include both foreign exchange reserves and gold, thus reached EUR 36.3 billion at the end of May this year, up from EUR 35.2 billion at the end of April.
