Romanian climber dies after 200m fall from Mont Blanc
Romanian Iulian Costache, 34, died on Monday (August 18) on the Italian side of Mont Blanc, after climbing the Pointe Walker (4,208 meters), reports Aostasera.it. He fell some 200 meters, hitting the rocks.
“I was walking in front of him, I heard him scream, I’ve turned around but I haven’t seen him anymore,” a friend of the Romanian climber told the authorities. The accident happened when they were close to the Boccalatte refuge (2,803 meters).
According to the authorities, Romanian Iulian costache died on the spot.
