Romanian company opens first AutoMat automatic gas station, plans 100-unit network
Romanian company Bioromoil Automatic Stations will open the first automatic gas station in Craiova this month and plans to reach a network of 40 such stations close to large retail centers by the end of next year.
The station, called AutoMat, will reach 10 locations by the end of this year, and 30 more next year, according to Laurentiu Argesanu, general manager of Bioromoil Automatic Stations. The AutoMat network should reach 100 stations in three years and a market share of 3 percent in Romania.
The AutoMat allows customers to pay for the gas automatically at the gas pump. Bioromoil supplies biodiesel for Petrotel – Lukoil in Romania. The company hopes consumers in Romania will turn to ecological fuels, which is the trend internationally.
