Romanian Cultural Institute opens Romanian library in London
Romania's Embassy in London and the Romanian Cultural Institute (ICR) in London, at 1 Belgrave Square SW1X 8PH, has inaugurated the Romanian library, a joint project of the two institutions, dedicated to the Romanian community in Great Britain and carried out with the support of one of the leaders of the business community in London, Romanian-born George Iacobescu. Iacobescu is the chief executive of Canary Wharf Group.
The Romanian library has over 1,000 fiction and non-fiction books in Romanian and English, art albums, dictionaries, guides and children's books. Most of them were donated by the Romanian publishing houses that participated in the London Book Fair in April 2010, the remaining ones coming from Romania's Embassy in London. The catalog of the library also features the first eight books translated by the University of Plymouth Press.
The Romanian Library at the ICR in London is open Monday to Friday, from 10,00 to 17,00 hours.
