Romanian Dacia sales in Europe decelerate
Romanian carmaker Dacia’s sales in European markets (EU+EFTA countries) increased by 3.9% in June compared to the same month of 2014, according to the European Automobile Manufacturers Association (ACEA).
However, Dacia’s market share in Europe decreased to 2.8%, from 3.1% in June 2014, as its sales increase was way under the overall market growth rate of almost 15%. Dacia sold almost 40,000 cars in Europe, in June.
Its sales in the first six months of the year were over 208,000 units, up by 6.4% compared to the first six months of 2014.
Dacia’s growth rate declined in recent months, as the brand’s sales in France and Germany, its two biggest markets, went down compared to last year. However, Dacia’s sales went up in the UK.
The total car sales in the 29 European markets reached 7.17 million units in the first six months of this year, up by 8.2% compared to the same period of 2014.
