Romanian Dacia’s sales in the UK increase by 11%

Romanian carmaker Dacia’s new car registrations in Great Britain increased by 11.5% in the first six months of the year, whereas the British car market grew by 6.9%. It reached a record level of 1.3 million units.

Dacia’s market share on the British market grew to 1.05% in the first six months of the year, from 1.01% in the first semester of 2014. In June, Dacia’s sales in the UK rose by 33% to 2,568 units, from 1,931 units in June 2014, reports local Mediafax.

The Jeep sales recorded the biggest increase in the UK, with a 228.8% growth. Ford was the best-selling brand in Great Britain, with 177,150 units sold in the first six months of the year, followed by Vauxhall, with 142,434 units, and Volkswagen, with 120,064 cars sold.

Dacia’s sales in France and Germany, its biggest markets in Europe, have declined in the first six months of this year.
