French dairy producer Danone has appointed Romanian Adrian Pascu as the company’s general manager for South-Eastern Europe. He will lead the group's operations in Romania, Bulgaria, Greece, Moldova, and the Adriatic Countries.

Pascu will replace Austrian Dieter Schulz, whose three-year term has ended, and who will take over new responsibilities within the group.

Adrian Pascu was previously a sales director for Danone Russia, working in Moscow for two years. He was also a commercial director for Danone Romania.

The French dairy maker increased its sales by 4.6% in the first half of this year, to almost EUR 11.4 billion, according to the group's half-year report.

In Romania, the company had a turnover of EUR 102 million, in 2014. Its local business has been declining over the past three years. Danone lost the first place on the local dairy market to local producer Albalact.
