Romanian designer raises USD 45,000 on Indiegogo with wooden headphones
Meze Headphones, a Romanian audio equipment producer based in Baia Mare, managed to raise USD 45,000 on popular crowdfunding platform Indiegogo, for its latest project: handcrafted wooden headphones.
The campaign, which ended on September 25, got over 220 backers who paid about USD 200 each to get the new headphones. The 99Classics will hit the market in November 2015 and will have a retail price of USD 310, which makes this one of the most expensive tech gadgets produced in Romania.
Romanian industrial designer Antonio Meze founded Meze Audio in London, in 2010, but later decided to move his company to Romania and rename it Meze Headphones. At 32, he has already got a lot of international experience working for various product design labs in Amsterdam, Prague, Hollywood, New York, London and Bangkok.
