Polyana Cristescu, the former wife of Nicu Ceausescu, one of the two sons of the former Romanian dictator Nicolae Ceausescu, will lead the Buftea-based cinema studios Studiourile Media Pro together with the US producer Donald Kushner.

Romanian investor and movie producer Bobby Paunescu bought the studios at the end of last year from media group CME (Central European Media Enterprises), which is controlled by America group Time Warner.

Paunescu has changed the name of the studios to Bucharest Film Studios and has brought new people to the company’s board of directors.

Donald Kushner has produced Hollywood movies such as 7 Seconds, Andre, Tron Legacy, Blitz and Monster.

Polyana Cristescu was married to Nicu Ceausescu for just one year and a half. They divorced afterwards. After 1989, she was hired by the Paunescu family.
