Romanian electricity carrier Transelectrica more than doubles profit in the first half
Romania’s electricity transporter Transelectrica ended the first half with a net profit of RON 226.2 million (EUR 50.7 million), more than double compared to the RON 102.7 million registered in the same period the previous year, according to the company’s report. Its revenues also increased to RON 1.31 billion (EUR 293 million), up some 18 percent year-on-year.
The EBITDA profit went up 41 percent in the first six months of 2014 compared to the same period in 2013, to RON 421 million (EUR 94.3 million).
The Romanian state is the majority shareholder of Transelectrica, with 58.6 percent of its stock, while Fondul Proprietatea owns 13.4 percent.
