Romanian farmers submit projects for EUR 310 mln funds

Romanian farmers have submitted over 2,700 projects worth almost EUR 310 million in all the sections of the National Rural Development Programme 2014-2020, according to the Rural Investment Financing Agency - AFIR.

Over 1,660 young farmers have applied for EU funds to set up their own farm. They have requested non-reimbursable financings worth EUR 70.4 million. Bigger farmers who want to develop their businesses have submitted 281 projects worth EUR 108.6 million.

About 309 farmers have asked for support in setting up non-agricultural activities in rural areas, which require EUR 18.3 million funds.

The total funds available in the National Rural Development Programme 2014-2020 amount to some EUR 8 billion.
