Romanian film 'The Phantom Father' nominated at Mons Love Film Festival
''The Phantom Father', Romanian Lucian Georgescu's first feature length film, starring Marcel Iures, was nominated for awards at the Mons Love Film Festival in Belgium. The film was selected for the debut movie category.
The romantic comedy tells the story of American professor Robert Traum (Marcel Iures), who has returned to his father’s native country and Tanya (Mihaela Sarbu). Georgescu's film is based on American writer Barry Gifford's novel 'Almost Oriental'.
The International Love Film Festival of Mons, which was created under Elio Di Rupo's initiative in 1984, is aimed at uniting so-called intellectual cinema with more popular cinema. The festival, which takes place around Saint Valentine's Day, deals with the theme of love in all its forms.
In Romania the movie will premiere on March 2, 2012.
