Romanian Financial Authority: State should float several companies

29 April 2015

The Financial Supervisory Authority (ASF) is in advanced talks with the Finance Ministry for listing several companies on the Bucharest Stock Exchange.

This would contribute to increasing liquidity and the transaction volume on the bourse, said the ASF president Misu Negritoiu, cited by local Capital.ro.

The Supervisory Authority has identified three categories of companies, which the state should list. The first includes the companies where the state has a majority stake and hasn’t listed them yet, such as Hidroelectrica, the Constanta Port or the Bucharest Airport.

The second category includes companies where the state has a minority stake, such as Telekom, Distrigaz or Enel.

The third feature the already listed companies, where the state has either minor or major stakes, such as Petrom or Romgaz.
