Romanian fraud squad chief cannot justify more than EUR 116,000 of income
The chief of Ilfov County's fraud squad, Claudius Robert Rusu, cannot explain over EUR 116,000 in his possession, according to the National Integrity Agency (ANI).
The ANI found a EUR 116,000 discrepancy between Rusu's official earnings since 2001 and what he had actually received.
The salary income obtained by Rusu, in the evaluation period, was RON 375,515, while the wealth acquired and his expenses, according to tax records, included in the period under investigation, stands at RON 827,116, according to ANI. Proceedings against Rusu will now be started. He has held the position, under the Finance Ministry's authority, since January 2008.
