Romanian furniture producer sets up export department
Romanian furniture producer Lemet wants to increase its exports and will create a special department to handle the export strategy, said Alexandru Rizea, the company’s owner, reports local Profit.ro.
Until now, the exports have had a very low share in the total sales, said Rizea.
The company also plans investments of RON 20 million (EUR 4.4 million) this year for opening new stores in the cities where the company is not present, expanding the product portfolio, and increasing its production.
The company owns the Lemet factory in Brebu, Prahova county, which was founded in 1991. The production and storage halls cover an area of over 40,000 sqm.
The firm developed the brand Lem’s to sale its products, and its network currently includes 76 stores in the country, with a total sales area of 70,000 sqm. The average investment in a new store amounts to RON 1.5 million (EUR 334,000).
Lemet has 1,350 employees. The group had sales of RON 312 million (EUR 69 million) in 2016, up 12%.
