Romanian General Turbo reduces staff
General Turbo, a Bucharest-based manufacturer of turbines and generators for the energy industry, will reduce the number of employees from 650 to 450, due to the “dramatic decline” in orders on both the local market and at exports, reports local Wall-street.ro.
Some of the company’s customers are Romanian energy producer Nuclearelectrica, Rovinari, Craiova and Turceni thermal power plants, General Electrica (US), Siemens (Germany). E.ON (Germany), Ansaldo (Italy) and Voestalpine (Austria).
The company posted a turnover of EUR 25.4 million in 2013, down some 32% year-on-year.
