Romanian Government gives more money for flood prevention
The Romanian Government had decided to give more money to the Environment Ministry, to help it finance new infrastructure works that will prevent future floods, Prime Minister Victor Ponta announced.
The Environment Ministry will get EUR 11 million more than it had in the initial budget for this year. According to the initial budget adjustment plan announced earlier this week, the ministry’s budget was supposed to lose EUR 5.7 million.
The Government changed its initial proposal after floods affected several counties in Southern Romania. The counties most affected by floods will also receive EUR 11 million more from the Government.
