Romanian Govt. cuts budgets for nine ministries, Presidency, Parliament
The Transport Ministry will have EUR 56.2 million cut from its budget whereas the Defense Ministry will see a EUR 79.6 million reduction of its expenses in this year’s second budget amendment.
The Justice Ministry’s budget will drop by EUR 7.4 million, whereas the budget of the Environment Ministry will be cut by EUR 10.9 million. The Youth and Sports, Education, Culture, Economy ministries will also record cuts in their budgets, following the second budget amendment.
The Presidency, Parliament, the High Court of Cassation and Justice will see budget reductions too. The municipalities, on the other side, will get an additional RON 1.7 billion (EUR 376 million) from the state budget to cover their expenses.
The Economy Ministry hasn’t managed to spend money from EU funds for programs to stimulate small and medium-sized companies, according to the Finance Ministry.
