Seven in ten Romanian employees feel responsible for their health condition
Over 70% of Romanian employees consider that they are responsible for their health condition and that sports and an adequate food regime are essential for a healthy lifestyle.
Some 81% of Romanian employees believe that sports activities are excellent for improving and maintaining health. 77% find nutrition and an adequate food regime to be crucial for a healthy lifestyle, according to a recent study conducted by Sodexo.
Three-quarters of respondents believe that they can maintain and improve their health by being relaxed and lowering the level of stress in their lives, while 45% consider that a non-smoking lifestyle is critical.
For 80% of Romanian employees, the quality of life is associated with a good health condition. For over 70% of respondents, the main aspects of a healthy lifestyle are family and friends, as well as the financial stability.
Holidays and free time are equally important for 47% of respondents.
The study reveals that nutrition is imperative for Romanian employees, 81% of respondents saying they pay very much attention to what they eat. Only 4% associate nutrition to a diet for losing weight.
Almost 60% of Romanians think they should ask a dietician for help in order to have a balanced diet and proper nutrition.
Sodexo conducted the research between September 2014 and January 2015 on a sample of 550 employees. Over half of respondents are men, 57% are aged between 30-49, 83% live in urban areas while 16% held a leadership position.
