Romanian healthcare operator Regina Maria invests EUR 3 mln to expand hospital
Romanian private healthcare operator Regina Maria has invested EUR 3 million in expanding the Ponderas Academic Hospital.
The surface and the capacity of the hospital have been increased by about 40% following this investment.
The company took over the Ponderas unit in March. At the beginning of this year the hospital had a surface of 9,000 sqm, 141 beds, and eight surgery rooms. Following the expansion, the unit now has 12,500 sqm, 200 beds, and 12 surgery rooms. The Ponderas hospital specializes in metabolic surgery.
In March this year, Regina Maria signed a partnership of EUR 15 million to develop the first private hospital in Cluj-Napoca. It is the operator’s largest investment outside Bucharest. The hospital could be completed in 2017.
