Romanian Hidroelectrica sells EUR 23 mln worth of energy on power exchange in two days
Romanian state-owned energy producer Hidroelectrica sold on April 3 and April 4 energy worth RON 105 million (EUR 23.5 million) on the local power exchange OPCOM.
According to a statement of the company, “on April 3 and April 4, 2014, Hidroelectrica concluded a total of 29 contracts on the power exchange through which it sold 615,650 MWh in packages of 5, 10 and 55 MW, for periods of one week, a month, five months and eight months”.
The average price per MWh was of RON 163.3 (EUR 36.6).
Hidroelectrica, Romania’s largest energy production company re-entered insolvency this year after the Bucharest Court of Appeal admitted the appeals made by companies Alpiq, Energy Holding, EFT, Andritz Hydro and Local Budget Department District 2. Euro Insol was reinstated the judicial administrator.
The Romanian state is the majority shareholder of the company.
